Photos by E.E. Davis unless noted.
Photos of CSX Cincinnati Terminal were done so with permission and the
supervision of a CSX operations official.

Two archetypes of a bygone railroad era. DR Tower and a Type U signal at Deshler, Ohio.

KC Jct., Covington, Kentucky. This signal was one of what was likely the last large scale CPL installations. Notice the extra long sun shades.

The former B&O line across southern Indiana is still largely CPL equipped. Here we see the eastbound signal at the east end of
the Butlerville passing siding.

Westbound signal at Butlerville.

Overview of the east end of the Butlerville siding arrangement. Notice anything unusual about this interlocking?

Facing west at the Butlerville siding.

Not often are the back sides of signals photographed. Here is an example at Leipsic, Ohio.

Along the Indiana Subdivision. Notice that these signals are on one mast, a result of a 1985 rule change allowing railroads to place signals on either side of the track.

Another signal on the Indiana Subdivision.

Side view of the above signal.

Another side view.

The traditional arrangement of CPL signals, again on the Indiana Subdivsion.

A tight shot of the signal at the north end of the Deshler, Ohio.

A replacement signal being installed soon replacing the CPL signal at Ottawa, Ohio.

A sad day on the Toledo Subdivision. Two sets of recently replaced signals await their fate.

Medium Clear at Deshler, Ohio. South Deshler signal.
Tall masted CPL signal at Hamilton, Ohio. Notice the extended visors here as well. Front shot of same signal at Hamilton, Ohio.
As an engineer sees it. Photo from Maple Grove, MD. Photo submitted by TCSX member. K803 leaves Deshler, Ohio.
